Channel 5 (UK) will be screening the second series of Eel Island on Sunday 29th October 2006 at 9:30 am.

In 2005 Conwy Richards was contacted by Eye Film and Television to supply a coracle for a children's Television drama called "The Secret of Eel Island". Conwy met the production crew and taught the young actor Luke Ward-Wilkinson who plays the character "Scott" how to paddle the coracle - he was quick to learn and became quite accomplished at controlling the craft. The coracle - a Lower River Dee type will also feature in the 2nd series (as will Conwy who plays a walk on part as a Gypsy). This much-acclaimed series has been picked up by Canadian TV Ontario (TV), who recently aired the first series, they have a video except showing the use of the coracle on their website TVO LINK .

Photo depicts "Scott" (played by Luke Ward-Wilkinson) in a scene that was filmed at Surlingham in Norfolk England.
The Coracle is a Lower River Dee type - to a design once used at Bangor-Is-Y-Coed, Overton District in North Wales.
It was very suitable for filming as it is a very stable craft.
